Yo Yenta! Advice: Chrome Dome Doubts

Yo, Yenta! Advice Yo, Yenta!
I’ve recently gone through a break-up of a seven year relationship and am ready to start dating again. I’ve always been a confident guy and never had any trouble in the past with women. But while I was with my ex, I began to lose my hair. Now I have to face the dating scene as the “bald guy” instead of just myself and I’m not looking forward to making the transition. I’m considering hair plugs or another means of hair replacement. I’ve always been against that kind of thing since I believe whatever G-d gives us, we should honor. But I’m starting to think if it makes the difference between finding a great woman and spending my evenings alone, I’m willing to change my attitude about it. What do you think?

Yo, Chrome Dome!
: I could gab forever about what a superficial world we inhabit, the money spent on clothes, plastic surgery and private Pilates sessions and the lack of confidence we have in our plain, unimproved, cellulite-ridden selves when it comes to finding a mate, but what good would that do? I shudder to think of the hag I’d be if not for tooth whiteners, hair dye, self-tanner and Oil of Olay. It’s a ways off, but I’m setting aside funds for a 60th birthday eyelift/tummy tuck combo.

We all have our small vanities, and I don’t think you should judge yourself for wanting your hair back. If regrowing the lawn is going to help you present your truest self to the world, be thankful you have the option. Just make sure you spend the money to do it right and not come out with something on your keppe that looks like it was scraped off the highway.

On the other hand, you may find you enjoy life as a bald man. It takes courage, as you say, to honor what G-d presents to us in our bodies. Wearing your naked scalp with pride takes a certain panache that many women find very, very attractive. Whatever you choose, don’t lose the confidence you’ve always had. Ultimately, that’s what will bring you to the right woman. I hope you’ll be willing to accept her flaws, corrected or not.
