In Israel, Even The Plants Are Jewish

user submitted pictureNo, this isn’t a photo of the latest must-have Kabbalah accessory. It’s the cell structure of the Ranunculus asiaticus, a wild Israeli buttercup, engineered by nature to withstand drought and harsh desert conditions. The mogen David pattern is the first to be discovered in a plant cell by researchers and is thought to protect the plant from sudden water influx and dehydration. We aren’t the first to draw the parallel between this tough, beautiful specimen that grows only the Holy Land and the tough, beautiful Israelis themselves, but it bears repeating.
Thanks to Harry at Jewschool, yo!
