Just what 5770 needs: Rabbis with guns.
Here in Savannah we have more to fear from errant Jews for Jesus than terrorists due to the synagogue's open door High Holidays policy, but I definitely think we could charge admission to see our rabbi rolling around the bima a la Starsky & Hutch.
I have mixed feelings about this. Our Shul has armed police providing security for us during the holidays and other large simchas. They have been the same officers throughout the years and therefore we all know them and they know us. I look around at my fellow congregants and I can say with confidence that I would not feel safer with them packing heat. I loved the end of the video. Great save.
